Holiday time can be enjoyed at any time of year in Wales. The Gulf
Stream ensures that the beautiful beaches of Pembrokeshire have
some of the warmest seas and climate in the UK making West Wales
an ideal location for a beach holiday.
Holiday in a self catering cottage that overlooks
the sea, where you may be fortunate to spot resident Dolphins and
Porpoises swimming out in the bay. Safe boating, surfing, kayaking
and windsurfing are available at many places along the coast.
Pembrokeshire is the smallest, National Park in Wales
and the only Coastal National Park in Britain, with its protected
coastline and wildlife islands it really is an area of outstanding
natural beauty.
The 186 miles of coastal path wanders along through
some rugged scenery with beautiful views of coastal bays and inlets
revealing tranquil sandy beaches and former smugglers caves, as
well the naturally arched stone formation of the Green Bridge of
Wales.
If you like hiking why
not take pleasure in a walking holiday. The Preseli Hills and coastal
footpaths in Pembrokeshire offer some of the loveliest holiday walking
country. Enjoy a spring break and wonder at the beautiful banks
of wild flowers and daffodils. Summer brings a livelier scene for
those who want activity and excitement but can still offer peace
and tranquillity with secluded bays and quiet country lanes. Autumn
is a popular time to visit the offshore Islands when the first seal
pups are born.
A country or coastal walk will reveal a rich variety
of colour from an ever changing environment. Winter walking in the
dramatic Preseli Hills is an exhilarating and often solitary delight
with several inns where you can enjoy a roaring log fire and replenish
your energy with food, beer or whatever your preference.
Family holidays in Pembrokeshire can be as relaxed
or as busy as you like. Choose from the peace of the many gardens
or secluded beaches on offer, to the fun of more action packed days
out with Oakwood,
Folly Farm or the Dyfed
Shire Horse Farm, there is something for everyone on a holiday
in Pembrokeshire. No matter where you are in West Wales, it’s
usually no more than ½ an hours drive to the coast and one
of the many large sandy beaches, harbours or coves readily available.
